Good value, minor issue

I purchased the hébergement WordPress plan with a free SSL. The price was competitive, and the performance for my blog has been solid. My pages load quickly, which is essential for SEO. The setup was mostly smooth, though I did have a small hiccup activating the SSL initially, requiring a quick chat with support. They resolved it pretty fast, but it added a slight delay to getting everything live. Overall, it's good value for the money, but that initial SSL setup could be more seamless.

Great deal on dedicated server

I was shopping around for a serveur dédié and found a really good introductory offer here. The price was a significant factor for me, being a first-time buyer. The setup was fairly quick, and I appreciated the free migration of my old site. It saved me a lot of time and hassle. The performance for the price I paid felt like a steal. Very practical choice for my budget.

The World hosting, so good!

Got The World hébergement multi-sites and it's fantastic! My websites are running so fast, I can't believe the performance. The setup was super easy, and I love that they have eco-friendly solutions. Definitely shopping here again for future projects, and I'm telling all my developer friends about it. Everything just worked perfectly!

Consistent HybridCloud performance

This is my third year with PlanetHoster, always using their HybridCloud serveur dédié et cloud. The reliability has been consistently excellent. I've always appreciated their data centers being in Canada, which is a plus for my audience. My previous host had too many outages, but PlanetHoster just works. Their support is responsive too, which gives me peace of mind when I'm working on client projects. That consistency is why I keep coming back.

Thinking of moving my e-commerce site over to PlanetHoster, probably the PrestaShop hosting. I'm currently with another provider and migration sounds like a headache. Has anyone used their free website migration service? How smooth was it?

P PoojaR 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
I used it for my WordPress site a few months ago and it was surprisingly painless. They did most of the heavy lifting. Just make sure you give them all the correct access details upfront.

G Gaurav 2 weeks ago
That's good to hear. Was it a PrestaShop site too, or just WP?

P PoojaR 2 weeks ago
Mine was WordPress. I assume PrestaShop would be similar, but e-commerce usually has more moving parts.

I had a mixed experience. They migrated my Magento store, but there were some database sync issues initially that took a couple of days to sort out. Support was responsive, but it wasn't completely 'free of headaches' for me. Just be prepared to double-check everything.

G Gaurav 2 weeks ago
Hmm, that's what I'm worried about with PrestaShop. Thanks for the heads-up.

Magento can be tricky though, more complex than PrestaShop sometimes.

Following this. I'm also planning a move for my PrestaShop site. Does anyone know if they help with SSL certificate transfer or if I'd need to re-issue it?

P Priya 2 weeks ago
They include a free SSL, so they probably just set up a new one for you. Safer that way.

Just got my renewal notice for The World hosting, and the price jump is a bit much. Anyone know if there's a PlanetHoster promo code for renewals floating around? Or is it just full price after the first year?

A Anjali88 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I actually got a small discount last time for my HybridCloud renewal, but it wasn't a public code. I just opened a ticket asking about the price and mentioned I was considering other options. They came back with like 10% off for the year. Worth a shot!

Oh, that's interesting! I'll definitely try that approach. Thanks!

Which plan was that for? My dedicated server renewal was pretty rigid.

Same here. Prices are getting wild.

Yeah, I hit that wall last year too. From what I found, the 'renewal' codes are super rare, almost non-existent. Usually, the initial 'first month free' or 'annual discount' is what gets you, and then it goes back to standard. You can try contacting support, sometimes they offer a small loyalty discount if you push a bit, but don't expect miracles.

Same experience here. Felt a bit bait-and-switchy.

Just got my renewal notice for The World hosting, and the price jumped quite a bit. Anyone else notice this for their annual renewal? Wondering if there's a trick to get a better rate or if I just missed some fine print from when I first signed up.

R Rahul87 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Mine increased too, but I remembered seeing something about an 'annual discount activation' somewhere in their FAQ. It's not automatic, you usually have to enable it. Did you do that when you first set up?

Good to know, I'll check my account now. Thanks!

S SanjayR 1 month ago
Oh, really? I don't recall seeing that. Where would that even be?
4
R Rahul87 1 month ago
It's usually in the billing section of your client area, under services or something similar. Worth checking.
7
P Priya 1 month ago
Yeah, same here. My renewal for The World was definitely higher than the intro price. I think the initial discounts are just for the first year. Did you check if there was a renewal code on their site or in your account?
5
A AmitM 1 month ago
Sometimes you have to reach out to support directly. They might have a 'retention' offer.
4
S SanjayR 1 month ago
I looked, but couldn't find anything obvious. Just the standard pricing.

Following this. My HybridCloud renewal is coming up soon and I'm worried about the price hike too. Is the 'remise annuelle' the same for HybridCloud as it is for The World?
7
T techfreak 1 month ago
Could be, but HybridCloud is a different beast. Might have its own specific terms.

Thinking of moving my e-commerce site (PrestaShop) to PlanetHoster. Currently with another provider and migration sounds like a headache. Does PlanetHoster actually help with site migration, or is it just a 'do it yourself with our tools' kind of deal?

S ShrutiM 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
They do offer a free website migration service! I used it when I moved my WordPress site over last year. You just submit a request after you sign up, and they handle the heavy lifting. It wasn't instant, took a couple of days, but it was pretty seamless for me.

R RajeshK 1 month ago
Was it a full migration or did you have to do some cleanup after?
8
K Karan 1 month ago
Oh, that's a relief to hear! My current host made it sound like rocket science.
7
P PoojaR 1 month ago
Not sure about PrestaShop specifically, but for my simple HTML site, it was super easy. They just asked for FTP and cPanel access. Done in 24 hours. I guess it depends on complexity.
10
K Karan 1 month ago
Could be. PrestaShop has its own quirks.

D Deepak91 1 month ago
My experience was good too. I had a Magento site, which can be tricky. They moved everything, database, files, SSL. Just make sure to provide all the access details they ask for accurately. Communication was mostly via tickets, but they were clear.

Magento migration sounds intense. Good to know they handled it.

Anyone know if you can get a free domain with them? Or is that just for specific plans?

T Tom Carter 2 months ago
You usually get a free domain for life when you sign up for their 'The World' hosting plan, at least that's how it was when I joined.
1
A Anna Silva 2 months ago
yeah it's pretty common for their main hosting packages. worth checking the current offers on their site.

Do they help with migrating an existing website? My current host's cPanel is a mess and I'm not super tech-savvy.

A Anna R. 2 months ago
Yep, they do free migrations! Just open a ticket after you sign up, they'll handle it.

Can confirm, they migrated my WordPress site for free a few months ago. It was pretty smooth, didn't have to do much on my end.

I'm looking for a new host for my e-commerce store. How does PlanetHoster stack up against someone like Hostinger or OVHcloud?

G Gwen Osei 1 month ago
I switched from OVHcloud to PH last year. Found the support way better and the performance for my Magento site was noticeably snappier.
5
K Kevin 1 month ago
Depends on your needs honestly. PH tends to be more premium, especially with their HybridCloud, while Hostinger is often cheaper but you might sacrifice some features or support quality. For e-commerce, PH is usually a safer bet for stability and speed.

Hey guys, thinking about moving my site to PlanetHoster. Are they really reliable? Like, what's uptime like usually?

J Jared 2 months ago
Yeah, I've been with them for a couple years, never had any major downtime issues. Pretty solid.

A Anna 2 months ago
They're good. I mean, all hosts have their moments but PH is definitely up there. Plus, their data centers are in France, Switzerland, and Canada which is nice for performance depending on your audience.
